CANON AE 1 PROGRAM
Last week one of the owners of the photolab I work at was slandering the good name of the Canon AE-1. In spite of him I loaded a roll into my Canon AE-1 Program, the very first camera I purchased!
The roll starts testing out this 135mm lens on my friend Josh doing an ollie over this white barrier and if you can look past the missed focus, i think this first real test came out good!
Everything else was shot with the FD mount nifty fifty and boy is that lens nifty! I mean just look at this pic of my friend Shauny on 4/20, nice and sharp but also beautifully soft at the same time!
It recently occurred to me that you can mount a LED video light on to the hot shoe of your film camera and use it in place of a flash! Obviously this is not the most practical use of this and whilst I was taking these photos i was not sure if the light was even going to be bright enough for a properly exposed film negative. To my surprise it worked really well! You do, however have to make sure its okay to blind whoever is on the other side of the lens lol
The last image is of my coworker Kelly. This is probably the exact scene you’ll see if you walk into our lab during the late afternoon as the sun really starts pouring into our lab.
